Ok, I just read this article on the net. Don't ask me who wrote it or where it is, because I can't find it again after leaving the PC in anger. But it was written by some woman who is a professor of psychiatry in a New York college.

Basically, she believes that Asperger's (and most HFA) doesn't exist. She believes that we are all just nerds using our self pity to defraud our various governments.
She calls AS a "soft disorder" and says that "Autism has becaome a catch-all barrel for anyone wanting a handout".

I just don't know how to deal with people like this...

I've found marinating overnight, adding salt, pepper and onions and baking for two hours at 450 degrees results in the best taste.

Thats odd...... I find adding tomatoes improves the flavour more.

The only eating of meat I approve of is small children.

On the topic, this surprisingly does not make "angry" perse, but just a little irked.

The fact that she says that AS is nonexistant makes me angry, but when she says "AS is a soft disorder" I don't exactly agree with her, but I don't disagree, either.

The thing is, I don't see AS as a "disorder" I see it as a different kind of person. If you can't fix it, it's not broken. Has anyone ever been cured of AS? I don't think so.

We're not broken, we're just different.

But yeah I can see how that would make many aspies pretty pissed (personally, I just don't get angry).

Don't forget to add mushrooms and red peppers! Oh! And sautee them all!

Disorder is such a mis-used word. It's a syndroume. There's multiple definition though. Hmm... People like her are just not seeing the big picture.
