Yes, go back far enough, and even the Sun may have been "flat".  They are not called "Accretion Discs" for nothing.

Ooh. Ammended again as I have seen a pun. I said "In a roundabout way". If the earth was spinning and was flat and round it would be spinning a roundabout way!
