Schizoid personality disorder is similar to schizophrenia in terms of the symptoms, but one key difference is that those with SPD don't experience psychosis, whereas schizophrenic patients do experience that.

I just went and read the plot summary of that episode. Scientist uploads his memories and personality into Data before he dies. I wonder if the writers got Schizoid and Multiple-Personality / Dissociative Identity Disorder mixed up.

Schizoid Personality Disorder (SPD) vs. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD):

Similarities:
- Social challenges present in both disorders.
- Preference for solitude or limited social interactions.

Differences:
- SPD is a personality disorder marked by emotional detachment.
- ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting communication, behavior, and social interactions.
- Repetitive behaviors are more characteristic of ASD.
- ASD typically diagnosed in early childhood; SPD in adulthood.

You would really need to consult professionals for an accurate diagnosis and tailored interventions.
