What happened to you !? I was injured enough to quit the gym and never again go there. But not that much because of the injury. Just not my thing. Didn't like it there anyway.
epicondylitis of both elbows. back issues. aggravation of spinal issues. wry neck. arthritis.
Auch! You ended up ruined. I am sorry it happened to you. Maybe swimming now would work much better for you.

It helps, but one of the benefits of a weapon is simply to raise the potential costs of engaging with the person holding it. Another benefit is that it can be used to maintain distance. Neither of those really requires any degree of training.

I've seen a cane ripped from an elderly woman and used against her.

The four legged nasties aren't likely to do that.
