Did it ever happen to you that an idea for something (an invention maybe or a story) came to you in your dream? Like in the case of Kekulé's dream about a snake seizing its own tail (you know, the famous story on how he discovered the structure of benzene).

Anything? I personally dreamed many times about new interesting ideas for stories (one of them is going to end up as a novel - a ghost story - and maybe one day it will get published) and once even about – yes – a rhyming epitaph 8O :D (I just hit upon an idea that said epitaph could be later found on my tombstone when in the future I finally leave this material body behind). And what about you in this respect? Did anything like that ever happen to you? Share your stories with the rest of us, then :)

P.S. I had some prophetic dreams as well and dreams with the dead who delivered intriguing spiritual messages to me in them.

P.S. 2 In case someone wanted to know the content of said epitaph I dreamed about when I was somewhere in my early twenties, it goes like this - in Polish of course because i'm a Pole :D :

"Ona nie umarła, ona tylko śpi. Pora przestać płakać, otrzeć gorzkie łzy."

And the translation goes like this:

"She hasn't died, she's only asleep. It's time to stop crying, to wipe off the bitter tears."

(It seriously sounds like the epitaph on the potential grave of the Great Cthulhu - "not dead, just asleep" :D ).

I make up songs in my dreams and I'm still singing them when I wake up but they fade after about 5 minutes or maybe less and I can never remember them after that.

I did once send a voice recording of one to my bf as soon as I woke up. It was a love song with a melody and everything

If you're interested in this phenomenon, a good person to read up on is Edgar Cayce. He was known as the sleeping prophet. One of his best known examples was a girl , 16 or so that "supposedly" went crazy The girl's parents consulted all kinds of specialists. They threw up their hands and said it happens. As a last resort they contacted Cayce. In his dreams he saw the cause of her problems was a nerve impacted on one of her wisdom teeth. They removed her wisdom teeth and she was fine.

This information supposedly came from the aksashic records. Maybe you're tapping into that.

Probably :) I had several dreams about this young gentleman https://channelingerik.com :D We talked about the other side of life in them, he also once shared with me an idea for one of my stories. In this thread viewtopic.php?t=125660 you can read many descriptions of my dreams about him, as well as my dreams about my deceased grandmother whom I contacted in this manner numerous times after her death :D She also told me many things about the afterlife, like for example that she met there one bad man she used to know, a man whose name I remembered after waking up - I later asked my relatives about such a guy - yes, he did exist and wasn't the nicest person who walked Earth, to put it in this way :D Grandma also told me once about this that "in my aunt Ela's family someone was going to die" and indeed her husband, uncle Bogdan died a couple of months later 8O His funeral took place exactly on the day of the first anniversary of grandma's death.

I got the melody line and chords of a song in a dream once. The lyrics had to be replaced by something that made sense, and it needed a bit of tidying up, but it was a good song.

I don't think it was anything supernatural. I just think that the mental state in dreams can be quite good for allowing artistic ideas to come out. I don''t think anything comes to me from out there while I'm asleep. I think it's all me, though I can see why people often think otherwise. I've imagined the most amazing artwork while I've been dreaming, and as I'm not an amazing artist, it's often felt as if it can't have been my doing.

I had a dream that I was selling handmade and hand painted toys that I've put together at a craft fair. In the mix of treasures were Om Noms or Sweet Peas. Now I'm making the little Sweetlets.

Interesting, but I see that members often volunteer interpretations. Don't know what qualifies them to do that, and I suspect they're all guessing. Still, it's fun, and even a die-hard skeptic such as myself finds the notion that dreams can be interpreted very hard to resist. There has to be some reason why I keep dreaming of getting lost while on an important journey, and the physical security of my home being compromised. It makes me think that fear fulfillment must be a factor in some of my dreams.

I recalled that two years ago, I made quite a frequent use of that board, I once posted my dreams on there: https://dreamforum.net/threads/what-can ... #post-1323

And as for Cayce, I just read a book on him today :)
