We know that seven ate nine and that is why six was afraid, but just why did seven eat nine?

Because you're supposed to eat three squared meals a day.

The infinity symbol is a cool thing to be and I'm guessing that 7 thought he could become that symbol if he ate 9.

When I saw the thread title I thought it was a reference to the Star Trek character, Seven-of-nine.
