She's likes to rule her kingdom of golden honey with an iron stinger. Refusing to share power with her sisters or even her own mother. Such power and dignity, unhampered by sediment.

She is a coldblooded killer !? She kills all her potential queens-to-be sisters and even her own mother..And she's a real slut, mating with all those male drones... The only thing that justifies her is that they all lived happily ever after, making a lot of healthy honey products.
Just kidding, it's a fascinating story.
Now we can have their kingdom in our own rooms -Beecosytem:

The Queen Bee reminds me of China's only female emperor Wu Zetian who was also a cold-blooded killer who had many of her own family members killed (including her mother, sibilings, and even her own children) just to hold onto power, but she was also a highly effective leader who brought great prosperity to the Chinese Empire.
I also think other similar animal colonies are fascinating. Like Ants, Termites, and even Naked Mole Rats which all have "Queens" which are protected and tended to by the workers because without their queen the colony would die off.
Of course none of those I listed produce delicious tasty honey for us to eat like bees do.
But speaking of naked mole rats, I think they're one of the only mammals who live in a colony with a queen.

No wonder why so many royal families have had bee family crest/coat of arms. They must have been observing bees and their behavior for a long time and learned from them how successfully rule.
Thank you for bringing to my attention queen Wu Zetian.

There was a friendly but naive Queen Bee Who gave birth to a nasty Princess Bee The Queen was loved but, The Princess was feared Till one day, buzzing, in her honey comb A stinger pierced the Kind Queen's dome She lost her life, and... Her Princess laughed!

That's nature for you. Animals and insects may kill their own species, sometimes savagely, but they probably never feel bad or guilty about it. They're amoral.
Sometimes it would just seem great not to feel bad or guilty about anything. But that would make us psychopaths and many NTs think we're cold hearted and violent as it is, even though we're the ones more likely to be harmed by cold hearted, violent people.

I feel kind of bad for the Queen Bee. She may have a longer life span than the workers or the drones, but it looks like she's the only bee who never dies of natural causes. One of her own sisters will eventually assassinate her when she gets too old to make eggs. She never just gets to retire.

Reminds me of Cersei's famous quote from Game of Thrones (before the show got so stupid)
"When you play the game of thrones you win, or you die. There is no midlle ground."
