Laws have been passed in Florida schools not to use the word "gay" and not to talk about LGBTQ people.

Because apparently to some this little word has magical powers. If kids hear it, it might make them grow up to be gay.

That seems ridiculous, if true.

The new law further prohibits all employees or
contractors in a public K-12 school from providing
students with their “preferred personal title or
pronouns if such personal title or pronouns do not
correspond to that person’s sex,” as defined in the
Florida Education Code. School employees, contractors,
and students “may not be required . . . to refer to
another person using that person’s preferred personal
title or pronouns if such personal title or pronouns
do not correspond to that person’s sex.” Fla Stat. §
1000.071(2). Students also may not be asked “to
provide his or her preferred personal title or pronouns
or be penalized . . . for not providing his or her
preferred title or pronouns.” Fla Stat. § 1000.071(4).

Florida is so close to the Bermuda Triangle, it'd be a darn shame fot DeSantis and Trump not to go there.

Although to be honest this really bothers me on a personal level because I used to live in Florida. Florida used to not be that bad until DeSatan and Trump took over. It was the more liberal part of the Deep South with lots of fun things for tourists and retirees to do. I loved living in Florida a LOT more than I did Georgia.

I think Florida's troubles could all be solved if only Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump were to both vanish in the Bermuda Triangle!

When I read the thread about the Florida man with parasites & quarantine was mentioned somewhere in the thread, I thought that the entire Florida state should be quarantined off like the movie Escape From LA.

I think people should have more sympathy for the Flordians who are stuck living in what's becoming a borderline fascist state instead of mocking everyone in Florida, but that's just me...

I mean just think of what every LGBTQ student having to live under this new law in Florida must be feeling in the schools they're forced to attend? Not to mention the black students who are being denied the right to learn about their history of slavery and oppression because they're having DeSatan shove the delusion that "Ammmuuurriiiccaa is freedom and slavery taught job skills!" down their throats.

I think it's a depressing crisis made worst by all these dismissive jokes about "Florida Man".

I know what you're saying, but.Were such provisions not agreed upon through a democratic process?To ensure a democratic process, one has to accept less than perfect results.
Your words make it sound as if the government of Florida has broken away from its people and become a despotic government.

I don't really know how to explain how our politics works to be honest. I mean that's pretty much the problem with many of us Americans, you could say we're politically illiterate (for lack of a better term).

It really is the truth and I believe many of our politicians have taken full advantage of that.

But I'm pretty sure not every single person in Florida wanted DeSantis or Trump and those are the ones Im feeling sorry for...

The kind of people who believe that you can become LGBTQ+ just by hearing discussions about LGBTQ+ seem to be the same kind of people who believe you can get COVID-19 by using a 5G device.
