Last night, I sat down and watched the documentary series "Quiet on Set." I will tell you that I am shocked that this happened during the golden age of Nickelodeon. Every Saturday and Sunday I would watch the news and reruns of "All That with My Sister." I was obsessed with Amanda Bynes' "Ask Ashley" skit. I also loved watching iCarly.

Nickelodeon was on top of the world in cartoon programming. They couldn't allow these scandals to go public. It's only when Dan Schneider's newer shows stopped being as popular as his older work did they decide to let him go and allow whatever surfaced after so long to finally go public.

I feel like WB needs their own Quiet On Set. Especially after the news about the creator of Space Jam came out...

I watched this too .
I might be cynical, but I am always suspicious of institutions that create child Stars. Adorable child star today, troubled or emotionally disturbed adult later. Not every child star is like Jody Foster.
I've always have been concerned about the children and young teens in Disney shows.

One can go back to the days of silent films to find child stars that were taken advantaged of either physically, financially, or psychologically by the parents or the people in power. That's why things like what happened at Nick should never have happened. There are suppose to be safeguards in place.

I haven't heard of the documentary. I wonder if it's online. I have watched Nickelodeon a lot in the 80s & 90s & did really enjoy iCarly too. I have heard about some of their horrible treatmeent of actors. Jennette McCurdy mentioned some of it in her autobiography. I haven't read it, not really into reading books but I read various reviews & things about it. My girlfriend wants to read it at some point. It's no wonder Jennette quit acting. It's also really good she never got into any major trouble besides anorexia which was a major problem for her. Def not surprising some other child stars have so many issues & problems. I wonder how Miranda Cosgrove became so responsible, wholesome, & sweet :?
