Both the Left and the Right have a "cancel culture".

And both the Left and the Right end up getting bitten in the arse by their own cancel culture.

The excessively wok will demand any book that contains the N word to be taken from school library shelves. And this results in books like "Tom Sawyer" , "Man child in the Promised Land", and "to Kill a Mockingbird" getting canceled...classic books about the Black experience of slavery/segregation etc...just because they have characters that use the N-word.

Similarly the Bible Belt local PTA will censor school libraries using criteria that...if consistently applied...would get the Bible itself pulled from school libraries in the Bible Belt because of the Bible's sexual and violence content. And at least one person has sued to get the Bible banned for that reason...to show that hypocrisy.

 The first time I heard the phrase "cancel culture" I thought, oh autistic people know all about that. It was from about 1968 on I was canceled all the time. Autistic people mostly get canceled, the more others get to know us. These days, politics give people the entitlement to be insufferable bullies and feel proud of themselves all the time. We know it's nothing new.

I'm actually worried that they will cancel Woody Woodpecker cartoons because of the supposed double entendre of his name. I will never again get to see cartoons of the cutest little redhead ever, or hear his unforgettable laugh. :(

Never mind that there is a real bird called the woodpecker. Maybe they'll censor the name to tree-chiselers or something stupid like that.

They'll also cancel the rock paper scissors game due to it being ableist since some people don't have hands. I guess they should cancel football then, because some people don't have feet.

And since it is wrong for white voice actors to voice a character of color, no matter how talented they are at doing so, they will no longer let humans even do the voices of non-human characters, such as animals or space creatures or fantasy creatures. They will make all such characters mute until they find such creatures that can voice them. Which is just plain stupid, but you never know, there could be space aliens out there somewhere that are offended by Marvin the Martian or even E.T.

Most of the time people complain about 'cancel culture' they're complaining about natural consequences for antisocial behaviour. Heaven forbid someone who chooses to be an as*hole get shunned for their choice to be an as*hole.

The right goes after animated sitcoms all the time. They even tried to sic the FBI on Seth MacFarlane because an episode of Family Guy offended them.

Not only that, but despite being 'cancelled' they never seem to be short of a platform to complain about it from.

What they generally mean is that it's harder to find people who will pay them to be as*holes.

Trump has made the conservative movement a bunch of whiney b**ches. If somebody stands up for the right of ALL people they are labeled by the right as trying to undermine the conservative agenda. If you tell someone "you need to be objective" you are trying to infringe on the rights of conservatives and force them to be "woke" Who is really part of the cancel culture?

Which really tells you something about the conservative agenda and how it's predicated on denying some people the same rights as others.
