Somebody once told me that if you are having problems making eye contact, you can make eyebrow contact. Unless you are standing really close to the listener, they can't tell the difference. Is that true, have you tried that?

I'll have to try that... one eye contact alternative I've used before is to "look through" someone, to focus my eyes on a point behind their head.

usually i make nose, teeth or fronthead contact. I wonder if they notice that i'm not looking into their eyes. But the eyebrow contact may work better, gonna try it.

Yes to eyebrow contact. I find it much more comfortable than making eye contact with both men and women.

Absolutely yes. Eyebrows and temples.

A therapist taught me this in 4th grade.

I usually do mouth and a little eye contact. I like all your suggestions though and will try them. I think I might be doing a little subconscious lip reading though. But I am interested to see how eyebrow or temple of tips of ears works out for me.

I believe the way people's eyebrows are groomed and the way they move can tell you a little about how the person feels inside. You can get a little read about the other person from their eye brows. In fact, it's kind of like looking at somebody's hands. A person might be looking at you straight in the eye and have their hands wrapped up in a ball.

I prefer eyebrow contact even though it feels like I'm cheating the other person.

Eyebrow and nose contact are the best. Nobody has ever commented that I have weird eye contact so it must work

I do the looking through the person to the back of their head thing and glazing my eyes over so my vision is blurry. I'm sure they can't see my blurry vision.

I also do little split second eye contacts before looking upwards and saying hmm, with a nod. I kinda look back to their eyes and then keep looking away again, as if I'm thinking. I imagine it makes me appear thoughtful. 8)

I never got that at all,in my opinion looking at a persons face is the same as looking at someones eyes.

i never even look at the persons face or body at all, i look behind them or whatever i decide to look at. sometimes if they have an abnormality in their face i will have the tendancy to stare but i was told many times not to so i remind myself not to.
