Solar powered zeppelins!

If the Hindenberg had been filled with helium instead of hydrogen it wouldnt have been a fire hazard. Lost some payload , but not much.

And place solar panels on its envelop (might weight it down somewhat but probably not too much- and you wouldnt need fossil fuel storage) to generate energy for the motors.

And viola...you would have a green passenger aircraft that could go as fast a train.

And if terrorists were to hijack it for a redo of 9-11 it would just bounce off the World Trade Center as harmlessly as a Nerf Ball!

The Fast Pavement

This is something that should be world wide

The fast pavement (or sidewalk depending on where you live) is alongside the usual pavement but it goes faster like the moving walkways in airports and train stations but they're everywhere you go

And what's more is that they go both ways and if you change your mind you can just hop off one and hop on the other one and go the other way

And also you can just hop off it when you get to where you need to be

If you don't want to use the Fast Pavement you can just use the ordinary one and go at your own pace

But if that was the case the name wouldn't have been as cool & popular for the band Led Zeppelin

I'm gonna go with the obvious & say the invention of teleporters/transporters would solve a few of the problems that were mentioned here.

An honest government that cares about the least of it citizens in a fair and honest way, without politics, even enpowering them to reach the highest abilities they might care to obtain.

Better mobility aids for people who have the use of all their limbs but just get tired very quickly, like me.

For instance a 3 or 4 wheeled power-assisted (with pedals but also with a boost for going uphill) rugged mountain bike would allow me to go hiking. Wheelchairs that don't assume you can't sit up, that are small and that keep your head at standing height. A shopping cart for outdoors that is self-propelled. I've seen power shoes that let you walk a lot faster, but I would like some that just make it easier to walk but at a regular speed, ideally with some kind of seat built in, at least to lean on.

Mobility aids in general are not very good.

Yeah like a walking stick that does all the walking for you

You just program it in to where you want it to go and what you need it to collect and you can just sit back and have a coffee

I call it the much talked about Shopping Stick but its been upgraded. It has an automatic mode and also a manual mode so you can also use it as a regular walking stick

Plus you can use it to knock things off the top shelves and give people (with a much slower regular walking stick)a gentle nudge out of the way as you whizz by at top speed

I agree that some superficial adjustments would be needed so the cooling coils did block the doors but that is quite feasible. But I would add that the whole thing should be on a rotating platform so you can spin the fridge to get to the "stuff in the back" more easily.

And, I'll add an idea I heard...I think...on the radio...

Sometimes you are trying to telephone a family's home and don't care which specific person answers the phone. There should be telephones for homes that anyone there can answer. And, to make sure the phone stays at the home it should be tethered to the wall, like maybe with a wire.

I don't know enough about computers to design it and even if I did, it would be too much work. And I'm not interested in being really really rich. Anyone who sees this can feel free to steal my idea.

A little lip on the top of ball hockey sticks to make it easier to pick the ball up and throw it lacrosse style.

I have an idea for a new type of glasss that do not rely on typical lenses which have fixed magnification for everything. My ideal glasses would have a display that's in front the wearer's eyes, something like a screen for a computer monitor or TV. A camera picks up the image & a computer program cleans the image up & enhances it. It could also change the brightness & colors some depending on settings.

I'm thinking of myself because I was born with a very rare low vision disorder that causes me to be very nearsighted, includes some color blindness, & sensitivity to lighting condutions. All the glasses I've had helped my distance vision a little but still fall majorly short for distances. Plus it's at the expense of making my close vision worse, they seem to enhance brighter light more than lower light, & do nothing to address my color blindness. As a result I really only worn glasses to school, work, or going to the movies. As a kid my eye docs believed I was lying about my glasses not helping because I didn't like wearing them when the reverse was the case. I disliked wearing them because they didn't help enough. I still have to be up close & the trade off is not worth it at home or going shopping.

Some kind of app that you put near your bed and it records your dreams in video format.

I don't know if they already do self heating soup but I propose self heating soup

It's soup in a tin and you shake it for a minute and it heats itself up

I mean you could easily extend this to self heating noodles or drinks or whatever you like

It's ideal for when you're on the move, camping, climbing Everest or even for the homeless
