I had program called signal rbg that just came with the computer, and it initially could control the lights on my PC fans, but seems it has malfucntioned and will not open now, so I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it, but now it wont even install on my PC. So I am wondering does anyone know of any other apps to control lighting on a gaming PC? I am just bored of the defualt pattern and seems the app I could change it with before doesn't work now even with trying to reinstall it.

There are some “plug and play” standards that include how to ask your pc what hardware it has and then tell that hardware what to do. So this kind of thing should be more “open” than it was. If it were me I would look for open source stuff to use with words like “list” “bus” “plug-and-play”. Once you know the details of what you have you can google the details of how to control it. Rgb leds could use PWM (pulse width modulation) to set the level and some way to set each color to a different percentage of on with 0 being off and 100% being as bright as it can go. If you want effective like cycling through different colors it might be built into the hardware or require software to run in background. You can also try opening the case and taking photos with your cellphone. Then zoom in and google any markings in the chips or components. Or using a magnifying glass and taking notes by hand.

Well, I got it working again, had to uninstall the Signal RGB program and reinstall it. At first the download failed, but I realized I didn't restart my computer after uninstalling it. So, I restarted the computer and installed it and now it's working just fine.

Just not sure what went wrong with it initially.
