How do you guys feel about Pearl?

I think she is spoiled and cries EVERY TIME things don't go her way

"Waaaahhhh I didn't get the shoes I wanted for my birthday!! !" (Squeaky Boots)
"My father doesn't love me!! !" (any episode where Mr. Krabs doesn't buy Pearl an expensive item)

Etc

I DESPISE the character (no offense to her VA Lori Alan!) and I will even argue that she detracts from the overall enjoyment of the show!

Pearl makes Angelica look like a freaking ANGEL

What do you guys think?

Also...I believe there is even MORE to Pearl's behavior...

Maybe deep down, she realizes that Mr. Krabs is imprisoning her as a result of being spoiled?!?

She KNOWS she is being imprisoned and that is the real reason why she is so rebellious towards her father!! !

Before I quit watching SpongeBob a long time ago I remember the final straw that did it for me was the episode where Mr. Krabs found out that Plankton was terrified of whales like his daughter so he dressed up like his daughter Pearl and terrifying poor Plankton so much to the point that Plankton attempted suicide.

It was at that moment I realized just how low this show had sunk. I mean not only is that totally inappropriate for a kid's show and in poor taste but as a survivor of multiple suicide attempts myself I found it very disgusting that somebody would try to do that to be "funny".

That was the last time I ever watched SpongeBob...

I say that because what I believe really happened is a bit convoluted & complicated but basically Nickelodeon has successfully created a captive audience with SpongeBob and they manipulated the Sunk-Cost Fallacy in order to achieve that goal!! !

No...DON'T DO IT @babybird!! !

That's how they hook you in to the show!

It might just be safer to look at episode footage on YouTube rather than to start watching the actual cartoon, but if you absolutely MUST then I reccommend the older seasons ONLY and none of the new trash

No, I don't think she's actually "rich" but probably WISHES she was!! !

Same with her father Mr. Krabs!

EDIT: If you want an actual rich kid in a NickToon @enz look no further than Remy Buxaplenty from The Fairly OddParents

I think Pearl might have what I call an "Angelica Complex" (named after Angelica Pickles from Rugrats) which refers to her spoiled diva-like behavior...

I would really like to know Pearl's backstory. I'm pretty sure that Krabs adopted Pearl. It seems very obvious that Krabs has never been married & there has never been any mention of him having a relationship with anyone before Mrs. Puff. My guess is that Krabs found her around the time he quit the navy/pirate.
