Trump has gotten a lot of bad press lately, but it doesn't seem to have affected his polling numbers, which still show he will likely win.

However, I also get the impression that Trump's supporters are far less enthusiastic than they were 4 years ago, apart from his die-hard "base". For example, I can recall driving through Southern Delaware 4 years ago and seeing how every house having a flagpole had replaced the Stars and Stripes with a Trump flag. This year, not so much. Elsewhere, I see a lot less overt support for Trump. I have seen no lawn signs in my overwhelmingly white neighborhood, whereas I've even seen 1 or 2 Harris signs. I saw voters being interviewed at a state fair on TV. All white people said they'd vote for Trump, but most seemed to be settling for him given the only other major candidate is Harris. They don't admire him in the least. Christians admit he's not a Christian, but at least he's not Harris. I don't think you would have seen that in 2020.

Consider that polls in 2016 showed that Hillary would win. But respondents indicating a preference for Hillary had no real enthusiasm for her. Believe it or not, some voters are actually enthusiastic about Harris, especially some women. Hillary didn't have enthusiasm from anyone.

So I can see a chance Trump could win, despite poll results.

I have the impression that people still talk about supporting Trump only because they want to "save face" and not come across as traitors to his cause.

This from speaking face-to-face with Trump supporters . . . who seem to speak less loudly, less often, and with less enthusiasm than before about their "Hero".

My point exactly. For those of us who don't wish to see him back in the White House, it's a ray of hope.

In 2016, Russia helped Trump.

Domestically, it was mostly the "wimmin shouldnt oughta be president" crowd. If Hillary Clinton had won, "lock her up" would have been replaced with "get in the kitchen and make me a sammich".

I feel most people forget what a hot-button issue abortion is; it is a personal freedom issue and a whiny, feeble old man wants to take that right away. I also feel people are getting fed up with a rich man who thinks he is above the law and it appears the only reason he is running is to avoid jail time because deep down he knows he's not. I feel most people would love to see his comeuppance. I predict the Democrats will win in a landslide

It's Been a 'Cat and Mouse Game' Lately

Yet the Recent Debate Illustrates Well Who

The Cat is And Who the Mouse Is; Although It's

True, Trump Continues to Escape Not totally Scathed

Yet Current Polls Since the Debate Do Give Kamala Somewhat

oF an Edge in an Otherwise 'Neck and Neck' 'Cat and Mouse Game'...

"The Buck Stops Here;" Yes, Supply and Demand, Basic Economics 101 Suffered

Leading Economists

Agree that Neither
Trump or Biden Played
A Substantial Role in Inflation;
Yes, Far Beyond Their Control Alone;

Of Course Folks Who Didn't Need the
"Handouts" During the Pandemic, Both Spearheaded
By Trump and Biden, Spent the Disposable Income as Those

Who Needed it Did too; Yes, More Demand and Less Supply From

Pandemic Related Issues and the War Between Ukraine and Russia

Obviously
Equals
More
Massive
Inflation,

Globally Wide too;

With the Fed's Slow
Effort to Reduce it by
Adjusting Interest Rates

That Of Course Made Loans More Expensive
With Additional Pains in Needy Wallets; Yet Hey,

We Had a Global Pandemic; It Was All a Cat and Mouse Game;

And Considering IT All, Most Folks Did Survive the Challenge...

Those Without Needy

Anyway, Neither Trump or Biden
Were Substantially Guilty For Increased Inflation Alone...

Yet What We Have Now is a Con-Man and a Prosecutor;

And As Science Currently Shows, Conservative Leaning Personalities
Are More Averse to change, Being Less Opened Minded That Way; Yes,

They are More Likely to Stick With the Way It is; In the Desert As Such for Metaphor

Rather than
Searching

of A Lush Green Way of Life...

The Fear was that Kamala wasn't
Gonna Look And Act Powerful Enough
With Confidence to Be President in the Debate...

By The End of the Debate After Becoming the Betting
Odds Loser, even with greater Poll Numbers Recently,

Kamala took the Lead and is the Betting Odds Favorite Now in the U.K...

It's a Close Race

Yet It's Obvious

Now, even by Seasoned
Conservatives Like Carl Rove,

And Even Dick Cheney Who the

Mouse and

Who the Cat is Now...

Yet of Course, It Depends on Who is
Enthused Enough to Do the Act of Vote...

i Live in the District that Matt Gaetz Represents,
One of the Most Conservative Areas in the Nation;

During the Last 2 Elections, Bumper Stickers Everywhere
Promoting Trump And Pence; We Haven't Seen a Single one

Now With Trump and Vance; True, There are a Few Trump Flags

Flying; Particularly as One travels further North to the Farms of the County;

Yet even at the First
Sunday Dinner at the
First Baptist Pastor's Farm Home,

Trump is No Longer a Topic of Conversation;

They'll Likely Vote For Him Yet They Don't Wanna Be associated

With a Con-Man

It Finally Seems at Least...

The Fact that Folks Have Conservative
And Liberal Personalities isn't gonna change...

And the Fact that Trump is a Con-Man Isn't Gonna Change Either...

Just Like Biden Wasn't Gonna Get Any Younger; Yet the Democrats had

Sails Enough to Change Course in Their Boat of Politics; Meanwhile, the Republicans

Still Stay

Anchored

in a Leaking Boat;

Patching IT Up as Fast
as they can yet slowly

Folks are Jumping Off the
S OLD S, TRumP Mouse Titanic Now...

And the 'Cat Lady' is MaKinG Progress at Least...

It's First Down on the Forty Line of the Mouse, And The Cat Has the Ball...

The Two Minute

Warning Will

Be HeaR Soon Enough...

My Feeling is That Trump is Gonna
Go Full Mouse Mode That the Cat Cheated Hehe...

Popcorn Time 'Eve,' The 'Orange Circus' is STill in Town

Yet Comfortably

Nestled Away For Now

Like Chocolate in Eden...

Change: It's Always What's For
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner; Noon

And God Yes, Midnight Cat Snacks..:)

I think the orange man will win because his thousands if not millions of worshippers see him as more of a god than ever now because he survived attempted assassination, and because they totally believe the filthy racist lies he made about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating other people's cats and dogs.

I just saw some really racist cartoons of the orange man's lie about immigrants eating cats and dogs and it's stupid and disgusting. Why are humans this way???

I even saw toy rubber ducks for sale on Amazon that resemble the orange man with his ear bleeding.

I have seen him lose debates before, but I have never seen him nearly as bad as he was against Harris. It was a total train wreck. Lunatical ranting about immigrants eating pet dogs and cats, really!? To me it looked like Harris knocked him out of the ring. I find it hard to believe that he could win the election after that.

As predicted, Harris's initial gains and surge in popularity is starting to flatline. Polling now suggests Americans are swallowing a reality pill and I suspect the election is going to be really close. I think the margin Harris holds currently is nowhere near as big as Biden held in 2020, so it's anyone's election. trump's foray into saying outrageous things has a modicum of strategy. For example his "Kamala is Indian" comments is actually clever, he is drawing on anti-Indian sentiment in the black community to not necessarily make African Americans vote republican but rather not vote for Kamala which is still a win for trump.

I think Trump is going to lose, and not just because he's a racist and a liar. People had cringed away from the idea of a rematch between Trump and Biden, and now they only have Trump to feel cringeworthy about. For all the talk about "not knowing Harris," I think her newness is a definite plus.

^^^ I think either way its going to be very close. I am also mindful that many American men did not want a female candidate back in 2016.

The thing with 2016 had to do specifically with Hillary Clinton, who had been so demonized for years by the right, even prior to her husband becoming President. I think Harris has a good chance to get elected, however close it might be.

While I don't doubt it'll be close, I think the only possible way Trump could achieve victory is with the idiot Electoral College, and even that is hardly a sure thing for him.

Either way there's going to be trouble. Worst case he wins, if he loses there's likely to be another Jan 6.
