I made a long post about this recently and then deleted it.
I'll try to make this one more concise.

There is corruption within law enforcement. In Edmonton, Canada where I live, the police service employs people who have been convicted under the Criminal Code of Canada.

As far as I am concerned, that is completely unacceptable and erodes public trust. It has to change.

Prosecutors in the judicial system routinely fail to prosecute police officers when they are charged with crimes.
There are two sets of rules: 1 for civilians charged with crimes and another for police officers.
This is a status quo issue and this is also a form of corruption. I can provide examples. For example, a man who was kicked in the head by a cop and needed surgery on his skull - well, the cop who kicked him has evaded prosecution.
For anyone else, they would likely be convicted and go to prison. https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/top-prosecu ... -1.6587558

I myself was the victim of what in my opinion was a criminal assault by a police officer. I fought hard to obtain the CCTV footage from the police. It took over 15 months. The police refused to cough it up IMO because they knew it was a criminal act. I got the evidence, I had the cop charged via a private prosecution (the police refused to charge the cop). The prosecutors halted the charge and in doing so denied me justice. Their excuse was that it was not in the public interest.
I wholeheartedly disagree.

There's more I could say but I'll leave it at that.

Corruption in law enforcement and the judicial system is rampant.

It's a shame that one probably won't be in the news for getting culled.
