I'm 17 dirty-blonde and male; I enjoy philosophical rants, pulp ficton, fantasy, sci-fi, and really any well-written medium. I've been aspiring to be an author as its the only thing I've ever been told I'm good at, and being diagnosed with asperger's syndrome kind of makes me doubt whether the complimenter was sincere.

This all has to do with my peculiar name, kudos to you if you figure it out.

Just because you have Asperger Syndrome it does not mean that you are not a good writer. You sound like a good writer from your self-introduction that I just read

I know what you mean about wondering if the complimenter was sincere!

we have been fed happy horses**t most of our lives to jolly us along and 'make us feel good' that we don't trust a lot of what people say. It is called 'patronizing' and is usually thought to be 'polite' in the NT world while we down deep know that it is supposed to be just what people say to each other.

NTs are strange.

Welcome to WP! Being an author is a worthwhile goal. I'm a sci-fi fan and a philosophical ranter as well, mostly though I keep my rants inside my head. :lol:
