I wanted to ask but does anybody ever get a feeling of "Impending Doom" or this feeling that you are going to die. I had a weird feeling come over me last night with it and I don't know if it's anxiety or not. It kind of scares me and I've had it off and on now sometimes over the past month maybe or so. I don't know what to think of it. I get scared because a couple of months before my Pastor passed away I think he had a sense that he wouldn't have much time left. I don't know if I'm experiencing some form of PTSD or anxiety. I do have a fear of death. I don't know what to think about it. I think in my mind I kind of wondered if maybe God was trying to tell me something.

I used to get that feeling when driving to work. It would be so overwhelming I couldn't actually keep driving.

I don't like it at all. That has to be scary to get it while driving. I've had bad panic attacks on the road and didn't think I would be able to continue. I was gripping the steering wheel really hard and felt like adrenaline was rushing. Ativan would help sometimes.

The best comparison I could make would be like if someone told you to go boop a tiger's snoot. Sure, when you're 100 meters away and the cage is closed you can manage, but the closer I got the more overwhelming it would be; the only thing that reduced it was finally conceding and calling in.

I had it on the way to work before, too, and at other times when life felt like it was too much - more than I could handle. I still experience it sometimes. It’s a strange sensation.

That's a great comparison! I would get that exact same feeling. I would feel fairly ok before driving but it would get overwhelming as I got on the highway. It's hard to manage.

Thank you for sharing and it is a strange sensation. I don't like it. I don't remember ever experiencing it quite as bad as recently.

When I plan something, I instantly think of 1000 things that could go wrong, it never fails although I know most of it is in my head. I guess I think if I worry about it won't happen.

I've gone through some rough patches with anxiety myself, My Senior of high school I remember getting panic attacks, once I passed out in class from one. It was a terrible feeling. With work, I've had them off and over the years. This past December at work one day I got one. I mentioned this in another thread but with my workplace being sold and all these new rules they have implemented, I've been having a hell of a time adjusting to things.

In regards to Brian,

It sounds like you've had a lot on your plate as of late as you've mentioned. Your job, having to move back home(I think?), medication, and with changes in your church. Maybe you need to talk to your doctor about your medications? just a thought.

Thank you for sharing King Kat! That's scary to experience passing out from a panic attack. That's one of my fears. A couple times it felt like I was going to. That has to be scary. I'm sorry to hear what you're going through at work! Alot of change all at once is very difficult to adjust to. I might need to talk to my Doctor about some medication changes. I am actually supposed to have a virtual visit with a new Psychiatrist on Monday. I'm hoping she is able to help. I don't think Paxil is doing much for me anymore. I kind of wondered if I was experiencing maybe seizures of some kind but I had a test done and they couldn't find anything. I am hoping nothing physical is causing it.

Might look into a product called zembrin. some places is over the counter..? It works much better fot me than paxil ever did. Aswell as most all of the SSRI inhibitors . Someone once gave a quote to read, to the effect of If you worry about dying and you do not, then your worrying would be for nothing in the event you die. No choice . Your off the Heaven , but if you donot worry about dying and you die. Then the same results , your off to heaven. So the person , whom did not worry and does not die might have fewer worries while alive and enjoy life more ? Either way the results will be death. So enjoy life while you can ....Just a old Quote . I read somewhere. Sorry to hear of you anxiety .Hope you can get ahead of it . Had tsken me years to have faith in my own knowledge and abilities .
