Declassified CIA file on Russians turned to stone by Aliens

A declassified Cold War-era file from the CIA has gone viral over its coverage of a supposed clash between Soviet soldiers and a UFO, whose passengers reportedly turned the troops to stone before blasting off.

Following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the CIA acquired a 250-page KGB report recounting the events that transpired after a platoon fired at a flying saucer over Ukraine, the New York Post reports.

“Only two soldiers who stood in the shade and were less exposed to the luminous explosion survived,” it added.

The KGB allegedly took custody of the “petrified soldiers” and the ruined spacecraft, which were transported to a secret base near Moscow.

The Soviet scientists found that whatever the light was, it somehow transformed the soldier’s living cells into a substance that was identical to that of limestone.

“If the KGB file corresponds to reality, this is an extremely menacing case,” the CIA concluded. “The Aliens possess such weapons and technology that go beyond all our assumptions.

Q.1 Why would the Soviets create an official file about such a far fetched incident? I am not aware that Kruschev or the KGB were the type to create practical jokes.
Q2. Why would the CIA classify the document for 35 years?

I understand the what but not the why?

This sounds like something like out of those insane tabloid papers I used to see at the grocery store before internet became a real thing.

the method of acquiring the document? it was well known when the Soviet union collapsed that the new regime shared classified files with the CIA. there's a common pattern across both Russia and the US when an incident like this (involving UFO crash retrieval) happens that the incident is recorded, filed and classified.

Again, if this is all a ruse to fool the public, its the longest running Psyop in the history of the world.

At first I thought the Russians were turned to stone like grey rocky statues or something, but they weren't literally that way. That's false information!

It might be advanced weapons use an aspect of the laws of physics/chemistry we haven't even discovered.

the ancient Sumerians, Greeks and Indians speak of witnessing gods using advanced weapons that kill in a number of ways. In all three civilisations they independently came up with weapons or divine objects of the gods can temporarily turn to stone or become inanimate, often in situations where their power is challenged (like Russian soldiers firing on them) or their divine nature is temporarily weakened.

If I have to choose believe that the Americans landed on the Moon or Aliens turned Russian soldiers into stone I place my bet on the Moon landing.
