Are we talking about WWE style wrestling here?

I would assume so, based on specifying pro wrestling.

Even when it's done professionally, catch wrestling/shoot wrestling usually only ever gets referred to as catch wrestling or shoot wrestling. Personally, that and amateur wrestling are the only wrestling that holds my attention.

I used to really enjoy WWE wrestling in the attitude era when I was growing up. I sometimes watch videos on YT from that era, for nostalgia purposes.

I haven't watched WWE recently though. It seems to have gone downhill in the past couple of decades.

Most certainly! I started watching while in high school, just prior to the first Wrestlemania, and was hooked. My dad had been an old time wrestling fan, regaling me with stories about the legendary Lou Thesz, Gorgeous George, and other old time greats. But even way back when, he always knew it was choreographed, and thus, so did I. Without a doubt, my all time favorite grappler was the late, great Rowdy Roddy Piper!

A lot of powerviolence bands make references to wrestling.
So do a fair number of emcees.

I watch AEW with my dad every week. It's a thing we do together.

Timeless Toni Storm got me into wrestling. She's just so cool and I love seeing her antics. I like some of the other plotlines and characters, but I mostly just watch for her.

She's got the Nora Desmond act down pat.

She really does! It's so fun! I liked watching her learn the transatlantic accent and really lean into the bit.

I used to watch it every weekend. I stopped right around the time shemus won the title from John cena for the first time. I tried to watch it recently but I found its more drama than actual wrestling. And since ive been gone everyone I knew retired or left so I'm not invested in the drama as much.

When I was a child, I thought that is was real. Now, I occasionally watch the old-time stuff on Youtube for entertainment.
