Asking for Accomedations in a New Field.
So I have been at my current job about 4 1/2 years, but they are buckling down on metrics, NT, ND, or otherwise. I do have a job interview almost lined up, but I emailed them say I am pretty open on availability but no response, but in fairness to them, they did schedule two weeks out, so someone may be on PTO or whatever. I would be a programmer at a law firm automating collections for a niche (not for customers thank God), and would build on a project I got scolded for and called into the office for, and they need that exact type of talent, and since I have "2 years experience" in that particular skill, I might ask for the upper range. But I am going to work with my therapist to ask for a WFH/remote work, as my anxiety/stress has been flaring up and I think I have PDA/ADHD, so I think this would help in calming this.
I believe that I normally have no issues when work loads are normal and things are smooth, but when micromanaging comes about (usually after 2 years), I tend to stress, and I have gotten sinus infections/sick 3 times in the last 2 months from the stress from work. I think WFH/remote work can be a bulwark against future micromanagement and allow me to be flexible with where I am maybe.
In the past I tried to grin and bare it, but I feel like my coping skills are failing. Has anyone else had experience with asking for ADA accomadations at a new job?
