Hi,
I am Hazel and I'm autistic and also chronically ill and I'm hoping to make friends maybe. I have autism level 2 I think (I got diagnosed with Autistic Disorder as a kid which now lines up to autism level 2 but they're going to rediagnose me soon and the hospital doctors think i could even maybe be level 3 due to my issues with a lto of stuff) and I like so many things and I don't know I find a lot of online communities hard because people misinterpret me a lot and it feels on purpose sometimes so I thought I'd try here.

Things I like
* Video Games - especially Mario, Sonic, Ace Attorney, Kingdom Hearts, Zoo Tycoon 2, and Pokemon (I like pokemon the most)
* Old Movies - Mostly stuff before the 80s, but really I'll watch anything that looks interesting. Find a lot of modern movies really overstimulating so I don't like them too much
* Dinosaurs - Especially Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus, and Triceratops. It's so funny reading scientific papers on Spinosaurus as everyone gets so annoyed at the other researchers.
* Comic Books and Manga - For western stuff I mostly read superhero comics, especially the original Thunderbolts run and Dan Slott's Spider-Man though I also quite like Tintin and the old Floyd Gottfriedson Mickey Mouse strips. Manga I like includes Sailor Moon, My Love Story, Nichijou, Astro Boy/Mighty Atom, and probably a whole bunch of stuff I can't think of right now. I don't really read Shonen stuff, I find a lot of it really gross to women.
* Possums!! !! ! Mostly Australian possums because they're so cute and make such scary noises but Opossum/Apassams are cool too!! !
* Cheese!! !!
* Doctor Who - Until this week I haven't missed a single episode of Doctor Who since I was 6 and I only missed this week's because my Disney Plus subscription lapsed.

Things I dislike
* Coffee
* Crusts
* Loud noises (wear headphones always)
* Bright Lights in my face
* Music (I do not listen to it it is too many noises at once how do people do this)
* Water on my face
* Football (all kinds)
* Sexism
* Ableism
* Big dogs

Brushtail Hazel, Welcome to Wrong Planet

It sounds like you are in the right place on this site. The human brain is much more complex then most people know. So treat this site as your home.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it to be a pleasant escape.

"Old Movies - Mostly stuff before the 80s..." um...look at may age...I'd vote for "Old Movies" being older than my oldest pair of shoes. :? But, ignoring vintage...do you like Science Fiction?

"Doctor Who - Until this week I haven't missed a single episode of Doctor Who since I was 6 and I only missed this week's because my Disney Plus subscription lapsed." Have you seen the early David Tennant episodes? The Christopher Eccleston episodes? I think all of the modern Doctor Who is good. (I like to watch all of the Whos. I started with Tom Baker but have managed to fill in the available episodes from before him. I'll admit they lack the polish of the modern Dr Who episodes but I still think they're fun to watch.)

Music...Have you tried any ambient music? Especially Steve Roach. I find most of his ambient excellent for being played in the background.

I like some science fiction movies especially the really old ones from the 50s and 60s, and some of the newer stuff but it depends on if it actually says something or if it's just like robots and chrome and stuff. That one with the giant mantis was awesome, though the Original Godzilla, They Day the Earth Stood Still, and Tarantula are my favourite of old old stuff. I also really like Blade Runner, Arrival, Annihilation, and Bicentennial Man.

I have seen all of the modern era of doctor who and a lot of the classic era but honestly i've not seen much Tom Baker other than the Sarah Jane stuff, nor really any Peter Davison stuff other than Caves of Androzani (did not like felt like all the worst parts of a base under seige episode)

I have listened to ambient music and it's still too much nosie. I like silence in the background if possible. Sometimes i put on rain sounds, that's about it. I'm ok with video game music but i turn it down a lot when playing and i don't listen to it on its own. Get really overwhelmed otherwise

If I had to pick just ten 50's SciFi movies:
The Day the Earth Stood Still [1951]
Forbidden Planet [1956]
GOG [1954] (not a good movie but it got a lot of things right)
The Monolith Monsters [1957]
On the Beach [1959] (also see )
Them! [1954]
The Thing from Another World [1951] (also see and )
This Island Earth [1955]
The War of the Worlds [1953] (also see )
The World, the Flesh and the Devil [1959]

There are too many good more recent SciFi movies to list here, but the ones you mention are good.

Regarding the ambient music...note that you probably shouldn't think in terms of listening to it. It should be soft enough to not attract your attention. It just provides a very palatable music for the background. I guess noise would also work.
