I think religion matters on a small and large scale. Wars are fought, people are tortured, women are subjugated, children are abused, and other injustices are committed due to religion. Many people suffer horribly and die in abject misery because of it. Some find meaning, purpose, and community in religion. I experienced more fulfillment upon leaving it, but I wouldn’t say that it doesn’t matter because it does - for both better and worse.
