A while back i made a post about how Im not autistic or adhd but also not normal and I think I finally figured out what exactly I am. First of all I know they are not the most accurate but took some online autism test which say Im most likely neurotypical. Im starting to think my geeky interest in things like comic books and video games is actually somewhat normal. We all have unusual interest and thats what makes this world interesting. Also like I said its just an interest not exactly an obsession. Still the term neurotypical doesn't quite resonate with me. So I asked myself if Im not adhd or autistic what am I and this might sound weird but the word artist came to my mind and its really resonating with me. I googled the traits of creative people and it seems to really fit me. I have always been rather creative even as a young kid. When I was only about 5 I made up an imaginary forest world. I don't remember much more about it other than it was peaceful and quiet. I was only 5 years old anyway. As I got older I enjoyed watching TV more so than I do today and some of the TV shows I watched would inspire me to write my own stories, which is how I got started in creative writing. I also always enjoyed drawing. Though I was criticized for my art in kindergarten a few years later in 4th grade I won 3rd place in a state wide art contest. As I got to be a teenager I took lots of art and English classes in high school. After high school I studied graphic design in college. Unfortunately I didnt always want to put in the effort which led me to eventually drop out of college. Now even though I currently work at a restaurant my hope is to someday be a comic book artist among other things. Though I enjoy playing video games I also still enjoy writing and drawing. Now that I finally realized Im an artist and most likely not adhd or autistic I think I will leave this forum now finally understanding what exactly I am.

It is good to hear you figured it out!

I have a lot of autistic characteristics but I've found that I socialize much more easily with a female presentation, so my issues have a lot more to do with gender confusion than autism! I'm not confused. They are!

Good luck BunnyJen90!

Im not exactly gender confused but have always been a bit of a tomboy though not to the point im lesbian. My interest and the way I present myself sometimes is more masculine. From my experience with other creative types they dont always comform to gender stereotypes.

You previously posted that you scored 33 on AQ. That suggests either Autistic or almost-Autistic (perhaps BAP?). What online test did you take that ruled out Autism?

Glad to hear, you found your calling.
Keep it at the center of your hierarchy of values and hope to hear from your reaching "Stan Lee"-ian hights ;)

tentative miniature p.s.: ASD does not preclude "artists".
We have been called many names across history; outcast, ignorant, dumb, hermit,... and "creative" was amongst them. :)

I have schizotypal personality disorder, cyclothymia, and anxiety. Probably ADHD too.

Not sure if I have autism or not. I can be extremely immature and socially inapt. I am glad the OP figured out what his issues are. I am still struggling.
