What's the situation of tiktok in America right now?
i heard it was getting banned, but i also heard there was a possibility of amazon (and potentially others) buying it.
i find it strange that people are flocking to rednote, instagram has reels and youtube has shorts. why mess around with an app in a different language.
Tiktok is still active in the US. My dad is currently using it to this day. Funny enough, I don't have a Tiktok account. Rednote interested me because the Duffy and Friends fanbase is pretty active over there. Also I like look up Chinese artists and Lolita fashion for inspiration. The devs implemented a translate option for comments. There are English content on there anyways.
I personally don't care for Instagram and I don't watch YouTube shorts. I mostly watch through a third party app called Newpipe. Actually, I switched to a superior fork called Pipepipe. Since on Pipepipe it cuts out sponsors and there's a blacklist for channels. Although the latter isn't perfect since I still see conservative recommendations. I can even watch Bilibili or Niconico videos.
