There are a number of movies I especially like. But this is the best.

The original Night of the Living Dead.

It was more than just an old b&w zombie movie that started a whole horror genre. It was the perfect social commentary on how things fall apart fast in the US and we the people screw things up because we're too selfish to cooperate together.
