How YouTube Coerced Its Way Into Rewriting Our Language

This video was brought up after watching a history documentary on YouTube about The Holocaust. In that documentary in order to please the guidelines and YouTube's marketers or whatever, they could not use the words Holocaust, Nazi, nor Killed. This means that they couldn't say what it was, who orchestrated it, nor what happened there. The frustrating thing is that instead of saying six million Jews were "killed", they had to stretch the syllable count to three by using a more friendly yet ridiculous term: Unalived.
This is all to protect us, but it's also watering down historical events. It doesn't end there. Try reviewing a game and having to avoid using swear words or the language above. You also cannot mention guns and have to censor the gore.
The result for failing to do so is demonetization which ruins many YouTubers income.

why do some YouTubers get away with foul language while others are censored?

They can say those words, but if they do, they don't (or it's harder? to) get monetized.

I fail to see how censorship it's supposed to "protect us". If it's all about stopping hate then don't worry, there are million ways to abuse the other without using forbidden words. Or even without using words at all.

Censorship is not an alternative to teaching civility.

Civility , yes , worst part is , It has to be taught at all . And the censorship is merely a way of burying the truth of the matter. Part of the Great Dumbing down of the population.IMHO.

You didn't watch the video. It talks about a Holocaust documentary that couldn't even mention the word itself and had to say that the victims were "UNALIVED" rather than killed. It's the kind of sugarcoating to stay monetizable until such language becomes the norm. I for one should be allowed to say it for what it is. I don't care what YouTube thinks. I'm about to play I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream next month, a game that has an entire level set in the Holocaust. I'm not going to let YouTube force me to censor myself for algorithms' sake.

Well it doesn't even shows up to me as I block YouTube and generally all 3rd party scripts, so yeah I only replied to what you written here.

On a related note, the BBC has an article titled "BBC reveals web of spammers profiting from AI Holocaust images". There are only a handful of genuine photos from inside the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War Two.

Tbh, people do use "Nazi" for anyone who does anything they don't like or agree with.
