It's about time; mercury is one of those rare elements the human body has no use for!

California has already done it years ago and autism rates still rose.

Rare? Mercury is actually quite common in the environment. It just isn't generally found in large amounts.

Do you still eat fish?

Oops; I meant "rare" insofar as the human body has no need of it. It would suprise most just how many ellements we need to sustain us!

Silicon valley attracts autistics, who are more likley to have kids with autism.

We need to push back against this hysteria rather than promoting the bad science.

Good find.

From the article:
Quote:
In January 1928, in the early stages of an immunization campaign against diphtheria, Dr. Ewing George Thomson, Medical Officer of Health of Bundaberg, began the injection of children with toxin-antitoxin mixture. The material was taken from an India-rubber-capped bottle containing 10 mL of TAM. On the 17th, 20th, 21, and 24th January, Dr. Thomson injected subcutaneously a total of 21 children without ill effect. On the 27th an additional 21 children were injected. Of these children: eleven died on the 28th and one on the 29th. (Wilson 1967)

For what it's worth, I have a nephew who is very strongly anti-vaccines.

Now that I have to give myself Vitamin B12 injections every two weeks, I asked him if he would like to give me the injections. He nearly got sick at the thought and he was extremely ticked off and he stayed ticked off about it for at least a few hours. It turns out that he is highly squeamish at the very idea of needles and vaccines.

I'm just the opposite. I'll often ask if they have any vaccines I can take when I go to the doctor.

And I don't mind giving myself an injection -- I would just rather they be given in the arm instead of the thigh.

How can anyone think this is bad?

If there was no reason for it to be there, take it out.

There are a lot of people who otherwise would want to be vaccinated who aren't getting them. And if they were really causing a problem for some people, more reason to not have it in there.

Technically we can't do medical testing on children because they can't consent. We probably won't ever know if thimerosal had any link to autism. The old study was too messed up and all the data has become too corrupted.

There is reason to have it there -- to help preserve vaccines from going bad. Before it was used, we definitely saw fatalities from vaccines gone bad.

As a result of Wakefield caused hysteria, thimerosal has been heavily studied and no evidence has ever been found that even suggests a link to autism.

^^^ I think the dosage is too small to see any clinical effect.

Supposedly, about the worst side effect is maybe a little reddening around the injection site.
