Is there anybody here who, as a (male) kid, "enjoyed" this exotic combo (Autism + Gayness + some form Gender Dysphoria + HIP), especially in very old times (1960s or so) ?
In these times of low acceptance, the first three items almost automatically implied masking, which basically means three layers of masks.
Moreover, "non-Kanner" form of autisms were not yet identified in practice, hence the first mask (autistic mask) was just being "strange" and not wanting to seem so, with the feeling of a "unique strangeness" (with no name), that is indeed, feeling alien.
And most often, HIP made you very efficient in the ability of wearing masks and not being noticed, so that the mask strategy was understood as fully validated to "survive", probably governing in a large extent strange subsequent trajectories of life, where namely, lying-by-omission is part of your hard-coded software. And being so good at surviving was also likely to lead to very late diagnosis.
Would like so much to find matching people, to discuss implications of this combo, if possible.
