In The UK, Is It Mandatory To Wear A Sunflower Lanyard If You Are Autistic? Because In Case I Ever Travel There Because I Want To Go To A Cosplay Con Or SMTH, I REALLY Don't Want To Wear A Sunflower Lanyard.

I'd Really Appreciate It If Someone Answers Me! Thanks!

No, definitely not. I live in the UK and I've never had to wear one of those and I've never seen anyone else wearing one either. Why would it be mandatory?

I believe it's a badge thing in the shape of a sunflower that shows the person has an invisible disability.

Where the OP has got this from about being mandatory in the UK I don't know, I hope there's no indication that they're going to start forcing us to wear one because NO WAY would I want to, it's my personal private business.

My other half got one for her and the children, with the idea that it would be recognized by venues they visit, to help ease the conversation into discussing needs/accommodations etc. They are apparently recognized.

Of course it's not mandatory. Who told you such a ridiculous thing?

Well I Don't Want One. Why Would You Want EVERYONE In Public To Know You're Autistic Anyway???

For targeting other human beings as Marks , or for those who actually care ? maybe ,it helps them watch out for others?

I wouldn't discourage others from wearing one if they choose, but I wouldn't in a million years. It's not necessary for me, because I'm able to communicate no matter how much distress I'm in. And anyway it won't make people suddenly sympathetic, and I don't want that anyway. I don't want any attention, positive or negative. I just want to blend in.

 Yeah I just seem to live in fear of being forced to reveal my diagnosis to the world, or it being announced to the world. A neon banner being put up saying "EVERYONE! TAMAYA HAS ASPERGER'S! FEEL FREE TO READ HER MEDICAL RECORDS RIGHT HERE!"

Used to be in the old Days, they could sell you a emergency alert bracelet.
( Medi-Alert) printed some detail of the worst , Of your
symptoms of your diagnosis . For Emergencies . Used to wear one for years . When trying to recover from a apparent out of control Borrelia Burgdorphi.& Bartonella bacteria infection.(Lyme disease). commobidity of Physical disability and
Undiagnosed Autism& PTSD . So the print on that bracelet was aweful small .Could even include a Doc Name?

It would bother me more if it was one for ADHD

I wouldn't mind ADHD so much, probably because the diagnosis of that didn't cause me the same grief and trauma as the ASD one did, so I have a different view about it. I mean I know strangers in public don't know my past, but I do and it's how I feel.

However, I wouldn't mind one for vertigo. Certain sounds can actually trigger my vertigo, funnily enough.

The basic idea of the sunflower lanyard is just 'I have a hidden disability, please be nice', there's no specificity about it. It's not screaming anything, the idea is you wear it and show it when entering venues that support the scheme. It doesn't have to be on show at all times, wear it discretely and show it when needed. One use case, is if you are a carer and the sensitivities of the one you care for make queuing a no-go, you show the card and it helps smooth the process of entry, which in turn reduces stressful situations.

And This Is Why I Don't Want One. It's Also Why I'm Confused On WHY Someone Would Want One.
