Getting stuff ready to take to the tip ( a place you drive to with furniture - in our case broken garden chairs),
Finding paper work I would rather not find. Notes from a course that didnt work out ...
Someone give me moral support

I would break the work up into chunks if you are finding it difficult to handle all at once. Do as much or as little as you can each day, and before you know it you'll be done.

You got this

Having a course not work out is neither your fault nor the course's.

The course not fitting you is the course's fault.

Justin,

Take it in small pieces. Do a little each day. These are just examples but for example..

One day I will clean out desk drawers. The next a closet, the next kitchen.

What also helps is having 3 piles- keep, give away or throw out.

Trying to do everything in one days is just too hard.

I know for many with ASD, this is really hard. I was never a pack rat or a hoarder but at one point I had too much junk. Totes and boxes full of stuff. At one point, I moved about 3 times in a period of 2 years. Got sick of hauling all this s--- from place to place. So, the last move I decided to start going through things, I was amazed how much stuff I had that I wasn't using.

A few things were easy to let go of, like I didn't need 14 drinking glasses or this blender I had used once or twice. Other things were harder and kept putting them back. Then over time with giving away and in a couple of cases selling a couple times, it got easier as i realized I didn't even notice they were gone!

Then I got into organizing drawers and was amazed how I could find stuff easier and stuff wasn't getting lost as easy. So, its a process that take a bit of time but it is doable.

King Kat - thanks for your thoughts, Good to know I'm not only person with this difficulty
