I think Iran needs to be next for Israel's safety, since Persia is developing nuclear weapons for using on Israel.

If you're going to use that logic, we should nuke ourselves next for the world's safety.

Well... we're STILL not done with Iraq... quite pathetic really... you'd figure we could at least threaten them or something but not even that. We just keep policing them with soldiers.

We beat them in all out war, now we're stuck babysitting them so they don't kill themselves. Let them, but build bases in remote parts of Iraq and use that for an all-out war with Persia. We'd win the war in less than a year really. Then it would be time to clean up some more area around Israel; the less ground the "palestinians" the less rocket/motar/suicide bombing, etc. As all the nations around Israel have vowed to "push Israel into the sea" her allies need to help see that it doesn't happen. Seeing as we're the strongest ally Israel has we should be doing the most work.

No. Iran is fine. Africa needs intervention the most. Intervene in Zimbabwe, Sudan, and send troops to help secure Somalia.

No... the results of our meddling in Iran in the 1950's are quite obvious. They were once a democratic society that made the mistake of electing a leftist government who wanted to expand their relationship with the USSR. We instigated the overthow of that government and helped the Shah regain power. In the 60's and 70's Iran was a police state that was overly freindly with the US, until the Shah was overthrown by people who were a combination of nationalists, and Islamists. The Islamists won out in the end, hence their government, and their anti-American, Anti-Israeli sentiment today.

I am no expert, nor an experienced debater, but from my point of view, a lot of Americans are becoming war-weary. If we expand the war into other nations, this will probably end up causing a load of chaos in America just because of people wanting to bring the troops home.

Learning the truth about the history of the region is the only way to solve the ills that have befallen it. I studied U.S. Policy in the Middle East in college. Frogman is dead on. Unless your plan is to eradicate Muslims, oh wait...who started this thread? Never mind!

Another short-sighted, uneducated topic on WP. This kind of thread is irresponsible and should be locked.

That's a crude insult. Christianity isn't about eradicating any group; witnessing yes, rejecting evil yes, protecting and defending what is right yes, never ending genocide no. Let God deal with those people on spiritual issues, but when they go about murdering millions of people they need to be stopped.
