Hi,

I'm new to this whole thing but want to meet some new people and get advice on things in my life right now.

I don't really know where to start or what to say about myself but feel free to ask me questions (no personal info please).

I mainly like playing games on either my pc or Xbox. I play all different types of games but Minecraft and Roblox have always been some of my favorites.

I watch a lot of movies and TV, mainly as background noise to something else I'm doing

When I have the time I also really like playing board games with my "friends" or sometimes my family.

I like to build with Lego, mainly the sets from movies or games I like. I pretty much only build sets despite having so many loose bricks since I have trouble coming up with ideas of what to make and would rather follow the instructions to make something and display it. I do occasionally put together other similar things like some models or 3D puzzles to make and display as well.

I have also more recently started listening more to music but have had problems connecting with people over it due to my preferences in what I listen to (I probably just haven't found the right people yet). I listen to a variety of songs, the oldest being from the 50s and 60s, and all the way up to the songs being released now.

Welcome!
This site can be useful for identifying stuff that stresses you out and ways to reduce that stress.
Autism is hard because a lot of stuff may not apply to you.

Thank you,
I've checking checking out forums for a while now and have found some helpful advice but I definitely see a lot that doesn't apply which makes it difficult to find some answers that may be buried under all the other posts

I did write a reply earlier with some interests of mine. Feel free to look over them.

Can't remember where I saw it, but a woman was talking about taking things literally when filling out some of the assessment tests, for instance, do you stim (ie flap hands) - and then consequentially thinking she doesn't stim because she doesn't flap her hands - which was exactly what how I thought of it too, when I first went to one of the online self-assessment tests to fill out.
Sometimes just takes a little time to get used to all the pieces before all the dots join together.

I'm sorry but you may have misunderstood my intentions. I came to WP to meet people who may better understand and relate to things I'm going through and also get advice on problems I am having in my life due to my aspergers.

I had been asked in a previous comment about things that interest me so I listed some and in my thinking was only to answer the question and give more information about myself. While I wouldn't be opposed to talking about Lego and games if it helps me connect to others, it wasn't the reason I initially mentioned it.

YES! I realize now that I may have done the same thing on my assessment. This has made it a little more difficult to figure out exactly which characteristics of autism I have. Now that I've had more time to process everything, I have learned more about what I'm dealing with and hope to now try finding ways to manage them.

Hello KingSUPER, What are some of your favorite music artists to listen to? I listen to a lot of music but also struggle to connect with people over it.

Hi,

It's hard to pick a favorite due to the fact that I listen to dozens of artists but most of the music listening to recently is either from the 80s/90s (Queen, Bon Jovi, David Bowie) or from the early 2000s and current music (Coldplay, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons).

I listen to a lot more people also but these were just some of the main ones I could think off off the top of my head. Feel free to let me know some of your favorites to see if I know them too.
