I've discovered the KitKats produced outside of the US taste different than ours. And apparently even better! American KitKats are owned by Hersheys instead of Nestlé and don't use as much cocoa. :(

When watching part of the Mariners game about a month ago, I watched it on an unofficial live stream coming from Canada. I saw an ad that showed a KitKat with different packaging. Both white and red instead of mostly red. That's when I've discovered their KitKats are under Nestlé.

I am itching to try the superior KitKat and will love to get my hands on those! I live in Washington state and Vancouver is like 4 hours away from my city which is unfortunately far. I wonder if there is some shady person smuggling Canadian products? I will totally buy some imported chocolates. Way better than drugs!

I've been buying Nestle KitKats that are a "Product of Japan" from an Asian market. $5 for a package of nine, individually wrapped.
Distributed by the Nishin Trading Inc.
The packaging is covered with Japanese writing.

I'm currently eating the Raspberry flavor.

That's actually a good buy. I've been at my local Asian store weeks ago and sadly I didn't see any Japanese KitKats. Always wanted to try the matcha ones.

What stores can you get to? I know they sell multiple Asian KitKats at Uwajimaya store in Seattle and T&T supermarket in Bellevue. One of them has the matcha flavor, I just can't remember which one.

I'm from the Yakima Valley but someday I will check those stores out if I ever visit the Seattle area. My Filipino mom occasionally goes to Seafood City for her Asian groceries.

I've seen pictures online but have never had non-American Kit Kat's, so I only know the American version.

The Asian market has candy aisle but they have candy all over the store.
The KitKats are near the ramen noodles! At the ends of the aisles where they are easy to see.

It's not the cocoa content.
It's the butyric acid Hershey's add.
That's why the rest of the planet avoids US chocolate...

I also love Kit Kats and I'm lucky enough to live in Canada so I can enjoy the Nestle ones.

I've heard all lot from Americans about how evil and heartless Nestle is so I've been feeling bad and guilty for whatever chocolate they have exclusively in Canada and maybe Europe, like Coffee Crisp and Kit Kat or Smarties (which are candy coated chocolate pieces not unlike M&Ms, but I think they're better, and not the American Smarties, which aren't chocolate at all but small crunchy sweet-sour fruity candies that come in rolls. They're called Rockets in Canada so they don't get confused with Nestle Smarties).

Although sometimes I think Americans just hate Nestle because it's not American like Hershey. American Hershey's chocolate tastes like vomit because of a chemical they put in it.:eew: And for some verrry strange reason, that didn't sit well when they started selling it in Canada so they changed the recipe up here so it doesn't have that vomity taste. I don't get it, do Americans not mind their chocolate tasting like it's already been digested? Do they *like* it? 8O

But then again, we have this chewing gum that tastes like soap. It even says so on the box. I haven't had it since I was a kid, though. The gum looks like purple Chiclets and is called Thrills.

I just looked it up and apparently it's some sort of process of the milk aging. It's no wonder Symphony and Dove are my favorite chocolate brands since I looked up they don't use the puke ingredient.

This is a travesty

How can it be a KitKat if it isn't Nestlé

Yea, a Kitkat has to be from Nestle. Now if Lindt did kitkats I might change my mind.

KitKats are pretty good I'd have to admit, but
Coffee Crisp is really where it's at when it comes to Canadian chocolate bars.
