Does anyone else here think the words to this song fits how some may feel here? let me know:

"Watching The Wheels"

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,

People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.

Yeah, I'd go for that. I'm sick of the look ppl give me when I talk about things.. it's one of the only expressions I know, and it makes me so angry. The look where you just know they're thinking "what.. are you ret*d or something? What are you talking about? That's absoultely stupid". ARGH

Thanks for your reply, and I agree with you. I feel so out of place at times, it's unreal. You know what I mean.

I've heard the song a million times, but never caught the lyrics. Thanks for sharing, they sum things up for me pretty accurately!

Happy memories. I have a documentary about New York and station WNEW FM on tape somewhere and that record is part of the soundtrack. The programme is ninety minutes of life at the station along with lots of scenes of my favorite city.

I think it fits the philosophy a lot of Aspies have developed when they're sick and tired of being expected to "fit in" with cultural mores that they don't understand or don't agree with.

Do you think John Lennon was an Aspie? He definitely had an "artistic temperament".

John Lennon had a farmhouse in the Catskill Mountains not too far from my home in Upstate New York.
He was a very smart guy and knew a great deal about human nature. I miss him.

He definitely had a lot of traits, which others do too. 'Watching the Wheels' and 'Working Class Hero' are definitely AS type songs, so it does make you wonder. I think it's mainly the fact that he had a rough childhood that is really the thing.

I don't think that John Lennon had quite the social dysfunction that the rest of us have.

Here is Working Class Hero

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so f*****g crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still f*****g peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

Julian put out at least 2 albums, one in late '84 called Valotte, and the other one which I can't remember the title was released in '89. He had two big hits 'Too late for goodbyes' and 'Saltwater'. Sean has put out at least one album, which I'm not sure of the title.

Julian would be 44 this year, and Sean turns 32 on Oct 9.

Both Julian and Sean are forms of John, as well.
