Something feels very, very wrong lately.

I don't know if anyone else feels similarly, but I can't shake this feeling that the world is getting closer and closer to an undesirable end somehow. I've been worried about it for days, weeks, maybe even months, and the feeling just keeps getting stronger despite my attempts to ignore it. Everything just keeps on getting worse and worse, and I'm greatly concerned we're on the precipice of a catastrophic war that will end in billions dying.

I don't know how to cope with it, and I don't even know if anybody else just has the same feeling that something terrible is about to happen soon and there's no way to stop it... Am I the only one? I mean...part of me hopes not, but at the same time I don't wish that feeling on anybody else.

The world is run by demented old lunatics who all have their fingers on The Button, and we are closer to WWIII than we have ever been before, even when I was kid back in the 80s during the Cold War. How can anyone not feel like the end of the world is coming?

Last night I started seriously thinking about making preparations to end my life when it happens so I won't have to suffer the horrible radiation sickness that will be worse than death. And writing a note about how I just wanted the world to be a better place but obviously that was too much to ask for and I can't go on anymore. Some people think self-euthanasia is a sin, but there is only so much you can do to keep a dying person alive and you're basically torturing them, and torture is also seen as very wrong by most people. And I'll be torturing myself if I choose to live in a doomed world where even strong healthy young people will sicken and die by the billions. So goodbye.

Maybe it's our cold war experience that stops us from freaking out about the state of the planet.
We've had time to settle our collective induced neurosis.
Pity the generation coming... If they make it...

Oh please for the love of God, don't let me be the reason you take your own life... I don't want that weighing on my conscience. All I was doing was venting about my fears...

The sad part is, I didn't even grow up during the Cold War. I'm only half your age and I can't stop fearing that the end is extremely nigh. It's to the point where I've been trying like crazy to step away from Twitter so I don't have to think about it too much; it's gotten overwhelming.

I can only hope that the world doesn't become subsumed in thermonuclear fire, but it's REALLY not looking good right now.

This stuff is mass media induced consumption . And believe me , it is intentional and based on years of use of practiced and proven methods .Since a dept was established ,sometime around ww2 Dating very far back in the history of Governments  "Committee on Public Information"And yes since the 50s and 60s businesses
have been making money off this stuff. Besides no worry, had let up on drinking years ago . But never claimed to be a tea totaler . Just not a drinker , but allow me to say here, have kept a collection of some very potent and exotic alcohols ,collected over a lifetime. When I could afford to buy that one odd bottle every few years. And never hardly used,As a just incase ,I get that "once in a lifetime chance" to " Watch the Balloon go up " Get that folding chair up on the roof . But only after dosing myself with several iodine tablets and plenty of water :nerdy: , just incase of not dying instantly . :skull:

I think he's saying that's the Cold War experience is why his generation isn't worrying like you are.

I know the world is coming to an end. There are floods, fires, rising sea levels, idiot leaders and wars.

Haven't those things always existed though?

Don't worry, I'm too much of a coward to commit. At least until it becomes 100% certain the nukes will be dropped.

Thank goodness. I don't want somebody dying because of me bemoaning how fearful I am of the world right now and having that feeling trickle down to others.

Even if I feel down in the dumps about all of it, I'm still too stubborn to off myself because I'm just hoping there's something better coming down the line. If I go, I figure it'll be because my body either fails me in some way or there will be some external factor that will do me in. And if I go, I'm prepared to leave this world behind and take off for a hopefully better one where I have more control over my life.

Hopefully some smidgen of sanity will prevail over the collective madness of Kim, Putin, Trump, Khomeini, Netanyahu and others who are systematically destroying our (potentially ) beautiful world. We seem to have traversed a time of great hope at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall and other promising events, but now Mars seems to be in control!

Also Narcissus, evidently!

But unduly worrying about it isn't the solution. There are still voices of reason. Things could go in several different directions.

Pardon sounding maternal here: And waiting for a body to fail you , Can be inviting that to happen ,I think .So
with that in mind . A simple thing , in order to be able to wait to get to that part of " something better coming down the line" best to keep your body up, and in healthy enough shape, to take advantage of the " something better" otherwise
you be there with that opportunity ,right in front of you, and possibly be too worn out or disabled to enjoy it.? 8)

It sure is. I might have to work Sundays again, which I hated doing before. That's what the world coming to an end looks like.

I have seen so many ends of the world scenarios play out to be nothing. I have panic fatigue. I will worry when something actually happens.
