The best fanfiction you ever encountered

I remember that many years ago I posted here a thread on the weirdest fanfiction you knew but now I want to ask you what are the best and most interesting fanfics with most unusual ideas for the adventures of characters you ever encountered? Give me some examples (I would be especially grateful if someone gave me some examples of good "Lost" fics because I'm very into this fandom now ).

P.S. I can already share with you a very good "Harry Potter" fic most of you have probably already heard of, though, as it's very well known - "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality".

There was an especially good planet of the apes fanfic I read a couple of years ago. It ended on a cliff hanger D:
It had really engaging original characters and the world building was better than the actual films because it drew from real life.
