Absolutely. Love the ornate detailed design, their almost haunting chime, the gentle tick of the pendulum. My late uncle had a few in his home and he actually made a few clocks.

I have loved grandfather clocks since seeing one on Captain Kangaroo in the form of Grandfather Clock
Also, along the line of spooky mystery, there was the Dick Van Dyke episode The Great Petrie Fortune (S5,E7) Rob's uncle Hezekiah leaves him a roll top desk containing a fortune, along with a will in the form of a sound 16mm film. In the film, uncle Hezekiah performs Me and My Shadow. There is a photo in the roll top desk of uncle Hezekiah as a baby. It is framed, and the frame covers the outer edges. In the photo is a grandfather clock, and figure in the background. When they remove the frame, the figure turns out to be Abraham Lincoln, and the initials M.B. are at the bottom of the picture. A Matthew Brady photo of Lincoln and his baby uncle. The clock as always been memorable.
I've always wanted a grandfather clock. I suspect they are a nightmare to move though.
