Abdul el-Sayed bests Haley Stevens in Michigan Senate race.

If el-Sayed wins in November, he would become the first Muslim elected to the US Senate.

But one question remain: As a progressive in the vein of Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Zohran Mamdani in a key battleground state, can he pull it off? Or does his primary win hand the election to Mike Rogers?

I suspect most people's reasoning behind this is based on the understanding that, had the Democratic Party nominated Bernie Sanders in 2016 instead of Hillary Clinton, he would have won the general election by a landslide, and the MAGA phenomenon would not have developed into anything beyond a fringe movement, and present day Democrats aren't going to repeat that mistake.

I wonder when Haley Stevens is going to reveal that she's being played by Druski.

I totally don't understand this. How is she getting played, and why would a 31-year-old comedian who seems to have no connection to Ohio get involved with her?

She looks like Druski dressed up as a woman and a lot of how she acts comes off overly exaggerated, like a character in a comedy skit rather than a real person.

I hope this hands Michigan to the Republicans.

I think El-Sayed might just win.

I hope so, but I have my doubts as well.

I remember when many people in MI stayed home or voted for Jill Stein in the 2024 presidential election because they considered Biden/Harris to be too Zionist. I'm worried that those who supported Stevens would stay home or possibly even vote for Rogers.

While I don't really know Rogers's positions (is he more of a Susan Collins type or more of a Ted Cruz type?), I also know that many MI Republicans are very hard right.

My concern is that Stevens's supporters could stay home, and that Rogers's supporters would be emboldened to vote against the "commie Muslim", thus flipping the seat.

You're welcome!

It's crazy how much national attention he's getting, but the blatant lies and racism against the good Doctor have been ramping up for the past few weeks.
Rogers and his friends are scared as heck.

But now the real question is whether or not we'll actually be able to vote in November, or if they'll just veto the whole thing...
