Since we are all talking about food and what we like and don't like, I was wondering what each of our favorite meals are? Has yours stayed the same for years and years? Does it change every week? Or do you not have a favorite meal?

My answer: Banquet turkey family size meal with Country Crock mashed potatoes (the potatoes MUST be cooked on the stove, not microwave, with added milk, salt, and pepper-- and 2% milk is preferable though I can be lenient and use Skim if desperate enough).

However, since this meal is so very filling, fattening, and full of carbohydrates (which often leave me fatigued if eaten in larger quantities) I don't often eat it. But when I do, I suppose it only makes it that much more enjoyable.

This particular favorite has remained so for about a year and a half now.

I also find I prefer to watch specific movies with favorite meals. And for the above meal, I would usually watch Quills if I am at home (and not at my mother's house) when I eat it. For a long time when I would eat it over at my mom's house, I would watch Irma La Deuce. That phase has passed though and my mother has gotten Cable.

How bout you?

My local supermarket does a mixture of green and black olives with sun dried tomatoes and wild mushrooms marinated with slices of garlic ~ I'm addicted to this at the moment.

I am also eating a lot of fish.

Every lunchtime at work I have 1 tuna & sweetcorn sandwich, 1 vegetable samosa & either an apple or a banana. I have had this lunch for about the last 6 months ~ it's tasty and balanced.

Somebody told me that it's best to eat fruit on an empty stomach because if it is eaten after a meal then it just gets shuffled along the digestive track with what came before and not properly broken down and hence not used as intended.

My favorite meal is Thanksgiving Dinner:

Roast turkey, homemade stuffing and pan gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, Green Giant brand Niblets Corn, hot corn bread muffins with butter, homemade pumpkin pie, a glass of white zinfandel.
(I'll pass on the mashed potatoes, thank you.)

I wish it was Thanksgiving... <sigh>

I heard that too, on one of those health programmes on the Radio. Apparently humans break down fruit quite quickly and other things slowly which means that complications can arise, if stuff is not eaten in the proper sequence.
