Hi, im new.I found this site really interesting so I decided to join. I had heard about Asperger's Syndrome once when I was taking this online psychology test, and the disease I was most compatible with was this. Then i read a little article on it, and thought, hey that sounds like me. And then I thought, is that the reason nobody likes me? Do I come off that way? I mean, I think I'm showing emotion, when people tell me I'm not. They say I just give a blank stare or a frown or I act like I'm not listening. Which isn't true. I am listening, I'm always trying to find that breaking point in the conversation where I or we could say, hey I made a new friend, but it never happens. I'm sorry if I'm not making any sense, it happens alot. Well, if anyone has any suggestions as to where to head to first, all are welcome. Thanks.

welcome confusedLoner :)

i have that same kind of thing where people sometimes think i don't feel anything or even think anything because i don't have the "right reactions". Sometimes people think i am not friendly because i don't like small talk, and usually give very short answers to questions. Mostly this happens around people i don't know very well.

recently, i've been around some other aspies, and it has been very nice to feel almost normal and to understand people and for them to understand me. Is there anywhere that you can find some other aspies? it's hard to find people that take the time to get to know you even though you don't 'act normal' in their opinion, but there are lots of people who will. it's just hard to find them. i hope you can find some.

Hmmmmm? What tests did you take?...and
Autism in any degree is not a disease, it is
neurological! Aren't professionals bias?

Hmmmmm? What characteristics you have
that gave you the clues?

Hmmm? What is it that you do that makes people
react this way?

What way? or ways?

Too vague! What exactly are you numerous?
characteristics that you exhibit?

What are your obsessions? Hobbies? interests?

It is once you sort your problems out and learn to understand yourself anyway.

Welcome and well met. :) Like Jason said, it's a blessing to have AS, only many people don't see it that way...sadly. Hope you find what you're looking for here!

I can relate to some of what you're saying. Last night I was upset because a girl invited a bunch of people to a party, but not me. I told a trusted co worker about and she explained to me that I don't really talk and open up to people much. It turned the reason why she didn't invite me was because she didn't know me that well even though I have been there a while.

later last night though another one of my co workers walked by and asked me if I was going to the party. It turned out I couldn't go because i had to work early this morning. It was certainly nice to know somebody cared though. :)
