I put lettuce and a tomato wedge on tacos as they slid by me on a food assembly line. Made it two weeks - hated it. Hated working where people jostled me, hated the noise, hated working with people I didn't know, hated having to breathe the fumes from the hot sauce cauldron next to my station, hated the pressure of a "does not stop" assembly line where people would bellow if things got held up at all. And my feet hurt from standing up all day long in the same place, without really being able to move. Nope, I hated that job. I made $1.50 an hour, and blew my entire first paycheck on a pair of Levi's blue jeans down at the ranch supply store. They were good jeans, too, the kind you buy too big and then shrink 'em to fit. They lasted at least 10 years, made for ranch work. Wish I still had 'em!
