Hi, this is Ghosthunter

I arrived tired. I had to walk 6 hours to find a place to
checkin. I checked in a unique hostel.

I am stressed, and those who know me in person
should know it takes alot to do it!

The transportation system is baddddd! Not because it
is inefficient, but instead being that I am directionally
weak, I am not able to navigate. It is $1.25 per mistake.

I am trying to grasp it, I try asking questions and f**k that
it doesn't work here. They answer questions poorly,
or ignore you

I try getting directions above ground and am casted
astray 7 miles. I am hot, fully loaded from the bus.
and suppose to play musical directions.

There eyecontact is not existent. It is like Aspie ville.
They cannot answer questions, or grasp the basic
word concepts. I hate repeating myself!

On top of this my Tmobile service decides to lose my
password and I leave the closes at 9pm Borders

It is 7pm and this place has no eye contact. I have learned
the value of eyecontact here. Without it it is aspieville.

I am running out of minutes, so please don't take offense
to my "aspieville concept", because it is WrongPlanet
having a town and that weakness of eyecontact is one
of their commuciation issues here.

Also, you have to repeat questions, and no eyecontact
and rephrase questions and stilll don't get it!

Grrrrr!

I am happy to be with you folks. I am not happy being
in Boston since I have to scratch at my coping skills for
even the basic questions.

I hope you folks understand this is not directed at you,
but the ineptness of the communcations skills of "aspieville"
Boston!

Hi Ghosthunter,

Sorry you're having such a hard time in aspieville. i mean boston ;) I'm glad you can come here to vent your frustration. I can relate to your navigational difficulties and trouble communicating with people who ignore you and won't look at you. sometimes people are very strange that way. i don't know why. Good luck with the rest of your trip. i hope it gets better soon!

Oddly enough, I've never had issues like the ones that you're describing in Boston. I don't know what to say, other than I hope it gets better. Just downloat the Maps from the MBTA stie that I gave you, and you should be able to find your way around.

GH,

Remember what I told you about New England when you were in Minnesota.

Ghosthunter,

Are you running out of
money for your trip? Are
you going to have to cut your trip
short? Maybe you can get money from
someone else who wants to help
your trip.

I'm glad you came here to vent, GH. Much better here than keeping it inside.

I hope you get a chance to rest and get your footing.

GH,

Here is something that may help:

The MBTA has Visitors passes sold at select stations. 1 day is $7.50 and a 3 day pass is $18.00. These are good for a full days unlimited ride on the entire system. The one day pass equals 6 rides and the 3 day pass equals about 14 - 15 rides. If you are prone to mistakes, this is the way to do because then you know there is a limit to the amount of money you have shelled out.

I know they sell them at the South Station (Commuter/Amtrack Station). You can get there on the Red Line. I do not know where you are at, otherwise I would give you specific directions.

One free activity is to hike the Freedom Trail. It is a trail to all of the sites in Boston from The Boston Commons to Bunker Hill. I think the only pay item on the trail was to visit the home/shop of Paul Revere. The trail itself is easy to follow because there is a two wide brick outine on the sidewalk for the entire trail.

I will be in and out in the morning but if you need more help, feel free to call me at 352-208-7324 except between the hours of 8am - 10am and 12pm - 1:30-pm Eastern Time.

Also, word of advice, if you go to New York City, DO NOT try to use the subway system without a guide. If the T confused you, then the NYC Subway will really confuse you.

Hey Ghosthunter, I feel a bit guilty, I guess I should have told you what New Englanders can be like. We have the reputation of not being very friendly or personable, and that is probably the eyecontact and rushed demeanor you are encountering.

Unfortunately, I have very little experience in Boston, so I can't offer you any tips on travelling. I do agree that the transportation system as well as the roadways are very confusing, this is one of the reasons why my family seldom goes there.

Civet is essentially correct about New Englanders, We do have have a tendancy of being very blunt and forthright with other people. On one hand, it may seem like people are rude, on the other hand, when people are nice to you in New England, you know that they're genuine about it.

Contrast that with the South, where people are nice, or at least polite to you, even if they can't stand your presence. --This is still something that confuses me completely, and I've been living down here off and on since 1993

Welcome to Boston. Sorry that you are having a hard time of it. Boston isn't really AspieTown until you get on near the campus of MIT.

GH literally can't read a map. This is why his travels seem so erratic.

Given time, I am sure he will figure something workable out, but I am worried b/c he doesn't have much time to work with b/c of money issues.

I have recovered my coping skills. I leave here today.
I realized that eyecontact training I have done has paid
off. I use 2nd nature level eyecontact, and if I didn't do well
in that area I would not have reacted the way I did!

Thanks for posting! I really appreciate it!

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

And I say thankyou! I did recover from this emotional
overload, and realized my eyecontact training has made
a difference, by being somewhere where there is a lack
of it. It usually takes a lot to crash me, and I found a
limit to work on.

I still haven't figured out there transit system and
no longer bother asking for help, I know just get
lost and try to figure it out. My sense of direction
is non-existent, and it seems no s.o.d training
helps.

Thanks for posting here!
Sincerely,
Ghosthunter
