I am in grade 12, actually I am graduated, but I am returning for a fifth year. There is a girl in one of my classes that for God knows why I have become fixated upon. I was previously fixated on another girl who graduated from highschool and moved on to university, and my fixation for her dissappeared. I am curiuos as to why it has reappeared once again. This isn't really a "love or dating" question but I could not think of another place to post this message. This girl is, I admit, very attractive. And she wears some very revealling clothes at times, that is almost everyday she wears a shirt that shows lots and lots of cleavage. I am asking for advice as to how to stop this before I get too overwehlmed in anxiety. Thank-you very much.

Why did you return for a fifth year of high school? Was it for the sake of these girls?

Oh no, pandabear, I knew the girl from last year was leaving, and I never met the new girl until this year. I returned for a fifth year to complete an English, Chemistry, Biology, and a math course before I moved on to post-secondary.

Well..in all seriousness...
Most of the time that seems to work.

Other than having them dislike you, and being open about that fact...I really don't have a clue. Even then, that doesn't always work.

AND, who knows?

I mean, if you don't WANT the
obsession or the girl, what do
you have to lose?

Except self esteem.

Which can be significantly more catastrophic than you might anticipate.

It should be nipped in the bud, not butt. The term refers to a type of pruning to direct the growth of a plant. I'm glad you're working on stopping yourself in this situation. I wish I knew what to tell you what to do.

Maybe. I get a bit of a boost off of actually
DOING so. Guess gamblers get this too.

This is true.

It's a hell of a lot better than just
stewing about it. Kinda like cutting
my hair, it throws the dice, and makes
me feel relieved.

Yeah, well, I hate haircuts. Usually don't get one until it gets long-ish, and then I feel half-naked once the person cutting it is done.

Couldn't stand them, until I learned
to do it myself.

Last time I gave myself a haircut, I was half-drunk, and convinced the idiot that had cut my hair had given me a mullet. That didn't turn out too well.

Mullet-phobia. Not the most fun phobia to have.

You have 2 choices:

A) Tell Her
B) Completely Ignore Her.

And of course- Find someone else to spend your time on. If she is really hot and you're not a jock don't even bother, girls don't become open-minded about that sort of thing until like 30. Don't make a fool of yourself, high school is high school. It sucks for just about everyone.
