I'm going to a Birthday Party today for a girl turning 17. I haven't been to a Birthday for years! Do I get a card? What kind? A preset? Again, what kind? I only have a few hours! HELP!

My 2 cents (what I'd do):

Pick out a simple card (sticking to "Happy Birthday"), but let yourself be "drawn" to a card that looks visually attractive.

Put cash inside the card. If she doesn't appreciate how much you might give her, it's not your fault. Most likely children who find fault with a gift got too many.

New here, so please be patient with me...are you the same age?

Not that it makes a huge difference, but I am curious about how you know each other...sometimes that helps when deciding!

I tend to think girls that age appreciate gift cards that they can spend on their own...

I agree -- cash or a gift card IN a birthday card is the most appropriate thing to do.

Run over to Barns and Noble and get one of their gift cards (like a prepaid debit card) and have them put it in the little gold optional gift box that also contains a Godivia chocolate. You can get a card there also.

Hey guys, sorry I didn't reply to give more info. I ran out of time.

Got her a stuffed monkey and chocolates. She seemed happy.
