If one is colorblind he cannot be entrusted to drive a Taxi, nor a school bus, nor a bus for that, nor a delivery van. If one is mind blind he may not be entrusted with a PR business (but should PR business exist?). If one is particularly empathic with animals should not be entrusted with a meat factory. If one is empathic with men should not be employed in “contractors” organizations (like Blackwater to be clear) or in elite corps for repression.
But all these donts are always taken in consideration in the perspective of the employer. Human society it at this point is a huge machine where people’s hardships in fitting in somewhere are never considered. The relevant point of view is that of the relatively well oiled machine which needs manning. People who don’t fit in are condemned to take the profession of bum or alcoholic or inmate in an asylum, a bedlam or a prison.

I wonder if deep down, most blind people have a secret dream of becoming a bus driver.

Of course they have. I would say that most of our life feeds on such dreams.
And the blind Gassman-Pacino?
