8 years old: "Principals award", which was a trophee that a student got at the end of the year who had been doing academically well...there were 5 of them.

10 years old: A certificate for participating in the "inter-school cross country team".

11 years old: I got "most improved" award in my class.

13 years old: Certificate for participating in the school choir.
Also at the age of 13 I got my graduation certificate for completing intermediate school.

(This is all I can remember).

Interesting thread to read.
I've gotten some things over the years, some of them for stuff where I just felt like I was doing my job... nothing 'extra special'.

But, I don't like to talk about those sorts of things. I don't like to show them to people.
I don't even like to accept them in person.
I've dodged several 'public' offerings of things because I really don't like the attention.
It's so bad I refused to go to a city thing where the mayor was giving me and my partner(for that one emergency call) some sort of citation.
They could have threatened to fire me over it and I wouldn't have gone (they really didn't though).

Even when driving ambulances, I REALLY hated having cameras around me. So much so that I just wanted to get the patient into the back of the unit so I could work on them in private and get the hell out of there.

Anyway, I am having fun reading ya'lls posts! :D

The certificate I treasure most is my certificate for swimming a width of our local baths, when I was about 7. I was terrified of water as a kid but I'm really glad I persevered as I love swimming now. :)

In second grade, I won a book for being the best speller in the class. It was a book about a Siamese cat.

In 12th grade, I made the Honor Roll and won the Bank of America Award for outstanding achievement in the field of English.

In college, I made Who's Who among American College students for mainting a good grade average in my undergraduate studies in English.

I won several awards in Toastmasters as I moved up in the organization.
