Thanks, that makes a lot more sense. That has diminished my disturbance somewhat.

However, my disturbance continues slightly as guantanamo is reknown around the world (and endly referenced) because it of its modern day use as a prison (rather than just a regular military base). The press/pundits, although not responsible for inventing the slang, choose to continue propogating a cutesy name which IMO would be more respectfully left amongst the military.

The U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay is nothing short of a modern day concentration camp, where psychological torture is substituted for physical torture, so as not to leave observable wounds. Basically the whole world knows this, except, apparently, way too many Americans. It is currently our country's biggest shame.
