This is how nasty a message board can be

I used to use the Static Messageboard:

But I was getting tons of s**t out of the users, who know I have AS. Here is a recent example:

"As far as I am aware, he is refusing to use Static until he is completely convinced that Pryan has f****d off for good. To my mind, this is good enough reason to lock the autistic fuck-head in a box for all eternity because we love The Ed and hate the Spaz-chops."

Some of it was even worse!

Put 'pryan' into there their search facility to see the kind of abuse I was getting:

ive posted on alot of message boards and used to let what people said to me bother the heck out of me, ive had people make death threats against me, people saing that thier gonna come over to my house to "beat me up". its all silly nonsence really, its quite laughable now that i look at it. im sure one day you'll figure out people making fun of you online is laughable aswell

They even posting my home address for all to see. I had it removed by the guy in charge, but I know some of them kept hold of it.

They really are pure evil.

thats a big major no no my friend, never ever post your real address, or phone number online. i'd even go as so far as to say withholding your email from public view is a good idea aswell.

I didn't, they grabbed the info from an online phonebook! I forgot to specify that I wanted to be ex-directory when I got my phone account. The thing is, the phonebooks still have it from when I had my old two numbers. They even posted those!

well in that case im happy my personal info is unlisted, i dont even exist in the phone book

It comes to something when users post it on a public board though, full of the most nasty bunch of a*rs* holes I've ever found on a board.

I do, I just don't give out my real name.

I wish I knew what they would be like when I joined 5 years ago. It's only rather recently that this crap started to happen.

People have harassed me on message boards as well. Makes me wonder why I even bother...

Yeah, most of the message boards I've seen have been really nasty, to the point of being boring. But I've never seen anything like you described, with someone's personal info being posted against their will! I'm glad I haven't had a landline in years. If I'm in an online directory, it would be old, useless information. I guess that's one benefit of moving frequently. Anyway, sorry to hear that happened to you!

Yes, they are a major bunch of vindictive people.

I'm glad I don't get that sort of thing on Yeovilboard. Wouldn't be a problem though, as I could just delete all the crap, and remove their accounts.

I had the same thing happen on the myspace forums, however one of them was as stupid as to call me an ass burger and post a picture of his "genitalia" on there and his account was deleted. I can fully imagine that people would go to the extent of looking in an online phonebook, and please don't point the blame at potter here, he did not give his details as he says, and I have visited the board this evening and was disgusted at the homophobic, discriminative abuse aimed at potter, and I intend to join the board and challenge whoever is in charge of it to take some action to clean it up.
