Hi, I'm a mum to 2 kids with AS who got their dx's privately this past May.

DD is 15, DS is 5.

Problem is DS's school is being AWFUL!! ! As I say, he was privately dx'd in May and when I took his report in to school I was told "WE don't think he IS autistic"! !! I've also found out that they never put him on School Action, despite the fact that he was assessed prior to school and the report stated that he should be put on school action.

My question is, are school ALLOWED to ignore the report in this way?

REALLY hope someone can give me a clue... Am just SO angry!! !

Yes,its becoming more common for NTs to deny us our Austistic/Asperger`s Identity. Its a way of trying to keep us down.Things are changing tho` and in another few years they`ll have to find someone else to stack the shelves...
